Scout works at the OS level — it injects text at your cursor via native APIs. Any app you can type in, you can dictate in. Gmail, Word, Slack, Salesforce, VS Code — everything.
No. Audio streams directly from your microphone to the speech engine. It never passes through Scout servers — not in memory, not on disk, not in any database. Provider data retention is governed by their service terms.
Add unlimited words, names, and terms. Scout uses two layers: the first sends your terms to the speech engine before you speak, and the second runs local fuzzy matching to catch anything the first layer missed. Both work automatically in the background.
Each session supports up to 15 minutes of continuous recording. When a session ends you can immediately start a new one — there is no cooldown or daily cap.
