We completely overhauled how Scout handles sound-alike words. Homophones like their/there, your/you’re, to/too/two, write/right, and dozens more are now corrected far more reliably.
Smarter Homophone Correction
Scout now actively checks over 50 commonly confused word pairs in every dictation, regardless of how confident the speech engine is. The correction model uses targeted examples to make better choices — and knows when to leave correct words alone.
- 235+ homophone groups — from affect/effect to conscience/conscious to lose/loose
- Balanced correction: fixes wrong homophones without changing words that were already correct
- Smarter number handling — “we need for more servers” correctly becomes “we need 4 more servers”
Compound Word Recognition
When you dictate “data base”, “work around”, or “can not”, Scout now recognizes these as single words and joins them automatically. Works for common tech terms like database, workaround, backend, frontend, timeout, and more.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed the correction engine being too strict on longer sentences — multiple corrections in one dictation now work properly.
- Fixed LLM cost tracking being underestimated.
