Scout v1.0.19

Voice commands, faster dictation, and a smoother macOS experience.

This update brings voice commands to Scout — say punctuation, format text, and undo mistakes without touching the keyboard. Dictation is noticeably faster, and macOS gets a much smoother experience.

Voice Commands

You can now speak punctuation and formatting commands naturally while you dictate.

  • Inline punctuation: Say "comma", "period", "question mark", "exclamation point", and more — they're inserted right where you'd expect.
  • Formatting: Caps, uppercase, lowercase, and title case transforms. Lists and symbols too.
  • Undo: Say "undo that" or "scratch that" to delete your last phrase instantly.

Faster Dictation

We cut about 850 milliseconds from the dictation pipeline. That's nearly a full second less between you finishing a sentence and the text appearing on screen. The whole flow feels snappier.

Pulse Improvements

  • Clicking Pulse no longer steals focus from the app you're working in.
  • Fixed tooltip flickering and improved click reliability.

macOS Fixes

  • Microphone and accessibility permission flows are much more reliable.
  • Clicking the dock icon now restores the Scout window.
  • The close button hides the app instead of quitting it.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur on macOS 14+.

Vocabulary Fixes

Fixed several edge cases where custom vocabulary words could be swallowed or incorrectly replaced during matching.
