Scout 1.0.57 makes your custom vocabulary a lot smarter about when to step in, and adds spoken quotation marks.
Smarter custom vocabulary
Scout's dictionary is great at snapping technical terms and names to the right spelling — but it could get overeager and rewrite ordinary words that just sounded similar. If you said "codes," you sometimes got a dictionary term instead. Scout now recognizes when you're speaking plain English and leaves it alone.
Saying your terms exactly still works the way it always has — they snap to the right spelling and casing, including compound terms spoken as separate words.
Say "quote … end quote"
Wrap anything in real quotation marks by saying "quote," speaking your line, and finishing with "end quote" ("close quote" and "unquote" work too). Scout is careful about it — asking for "a quote for the insurance" stays exactly as you said it.
Smoother pauses
Pausing to think mid-sentence no longer leaves a stray capital letter on the next word — "…the date is missed, Then one option…" now comes out the way you meant it.
New setting: Keep mic warm
An optional toggle in Settings that keeps your microphone ready between dictations, so recording starts instantly on audio drivers that are slow to wake up.
Bug Fixes
- Dictating in Russian and dozens of other languages no longer drifts into the wrong language mid-transcript.
- Fixed a few common mishearings ("what gives," "I bought that").
